Jamaica facing defeat in WICB PCL match vs Guyana Jaguars

The Jamaica franchise were staring down at defeat at stumps on day three of their WICB PCL 4-day 5th round clash against the Guyana Jaguars at Sabina Park.

Set an improbable 340 runs to win, the Jamaicans were struggling 105-6 in their 2nd innings at the close.  David Bernard Jr 16 and Damion Jacobs 24 were the batsmen at the crease.  Captain Tamar Lambert made 29. They will require a further 234 runs to win on Monday's 4th and final day.

Earlier, the Guyana Jaguars were dismissed for 202 in their 2nd innings after resuming on  54-4. Shivnarine Chanderpaul made 77 against Marquino Mindley 3-70, Odean Brown 2-29 and Jacobs  2-35. 

In the meantime, The Barbados Pride beat Leeward Islands Hurricanes by an innings and 190 runs on the third day of their match at Kensington Oval.

Following-on with a deficit of 270, the Leewards were bowled out for 80 in 34 overs. Hayden Walsh Jr topscored with 17 not out against Jomel Warrican 3-17 and pacer Miguel Cummins, 3-24. Tino best  took two for 12.

In the other match at the Beausejour Stadium, Trinidad and Tobago following on were 223 runs behind, after closing on six without loss, after making 177 in their first innings.

The Windward Islands had declared their first innings on 400 for 8.
