Jamaica win first game at Lacrosse U-19 Women's World Cup

Jamaica won their first game at the Under-19 Women's Lacrosse World Cup after an 8-6 win over Belgium in Ontario, Canada on Friday. The Jam Lax Girls who were trailing 4-3 at the half time break, outscored the Europeans 5-2 to become the first Caribbean team to win a game at a youth women's world event.

Jada Williams led the way for the Jamaicans with a hattrick while Joanna Silvera and Patricia Walters scored braces.
Alicia Thaxter who won the MVP award from the group stages scored the other. With the win, Jamaica finished 21st in the tournament.
