Jamaica has added another medal to its tally at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia as Caitlin Chang secured silver in fencing in the women's individual epee. Earlier on Saturday, Donavon Deans lost out in the quarter-finals in the men's individual sabre, losing 15-9 to Jose Felix Quintero of Colombia.
The nation's women's beach volleyballers won both their matches but their male counterparts were on the losing end twice. The women's team of Kai Wright and Sashalee Wallen first beat St Lucia 21-14, 21-18 to win their contest while the men's duo of Christopher Walters and Patricio Grant suffered a 2-1 loss to Puerto Rico.
The women's team then recorded their second win of the day, beating Curacao in straight sets before the men lost in their second match 2-0 to Cuba. Elsewhere, the mixed badminton team lost 3-2 to the Dominican Republic and 5-0 to Guatemala.
Jamaica's women's field hockey team finished 6th after losing 4-1 to the Dominican Republic in the 5th place playoff. Jamaica is now sitting 10th in the standing with 8 medals.
