Jamaican international gets lacrosse scholarship

Jamaican international Donahugh Simpson has become the first national player to receive a scholarship to play the sport of lacrosse in college. The 18 year old St George’s College student has received a full ride with ASA College in Florida after impressing for Jamaica at the Lacrosse World Cup last year.

Donahugh is hoping this move will enhance his skills and will open the door for other Jamaicans. Jamaica College player Kenyon Amos is expected to join Donahugh Simpson at ASA College later this year. The next lacrosse assignment for Jamaica will be the Under-19 World Cup next year in the Republic of Ireland
