Jamaican Olympic and World Championship medallist Merlene Frazer has been inducted in the University of Texas Longhorns Hall of Honor Class of 2017. Frazer, who competed for Vere Technical before moving the University of Texas, won the 200m bronze at the 1999 World Championships in Seville, Spain and was a member of Jamaica's silver medal winning sprint relay team at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Frazer also helped Jamaica win the World Championships sprint relay gold in Tokyo 1991, having run in the preliminary round and bronze medals at the 1997, 1999 and 2001 editions.
