The Jamaican trio of Odean Smith, Jevour Royal and Ramaal Lewis are among 15 players who have been invited to attend a Cricket West Indies (CWI) emerging players training camp aimed at enhancing their skills in the white-ball formats of the game. The camp will take place at the High Performance Centre at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
The new initiative is part of a project by CWI to further its investment in player development which is a key aspect of the existing strategic plan and new policies outlined by recently-elected president Ricky Skerritt. Programme Manager of the High Performance Centre, Graeme West said a group of 12 out of the 15 players will use the training camp to undergo preparations for entering this year's Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The CPL draft is set for May 22.
