Jamaica's successful Carifta track and field team returned to the island from Curacao on Tuesday after claiming their 33rd consecutive hold on the Carifta title. The 84 member contingent claimed 87 medals, one more than their 2016 tally.
The haul included 39 gold, 28 silver and 20 bronze. Seven championship records were broken by Jamaican athletes over the three days, four of which came in the field.
Jamaica's athletes will now turn their attention to the national junior championships on June 17 and 18 as they seek qualification for this year's IAAF World Under-18 Championships in Niarobi, Kenya.
