A poor batting display resulted in Jamaica going down by seven wickets to the Windward Islands in their opening Cricket West Indies 50 over Under-19 game at Conaree in St Kitts.
Batting first, Jamaica posted a meager 140 all out with Javeor Royal 43 and captain Brad Barnes 33, getting most runs. Shemill Lewis bagged 4-20 with good support from Alick Athanaze 3-19.
In response the Windwards raced to victory at 141- 3 thanks to 76 not out from Emmanuel Stewart and 26 from Johnnel Eugene. Royal and Barnes returned to take a wicket each.
