JDF crowned new Senior Cup champions

The Jamaica Defence Force dethroned Melbourne Cricket Club of the JCA two-day Senior Cup title after a four wicket win at Sabina Park on Sunday. The army men resuming their first innings on 212-6, lost their last four wickets for 34 runs to be dismissed for 244, a lead of 141 runs. Sean Bennett went on to top score with 72.

Melbourne in their second innings, went in search of quick runs but could only muster 233 all out against three wickets apiece for Shamari Brown and Rasheed Outar.

Set a mere 93 to win, the soldiers got to their target with the loss of six wickets. Captain Damion Grey 20 not out and Jermaine Harrison, guided the chase for the new champions. Nikita Miller and Christopher Lamont took three wickets each.
