JFF president gives assurances about Women's Premier League

With more focus on women's football since the Reggae Girlz historic qualification to the World Cup, the Jamaica Football Federation is giving assurances that the local Women's Premier League will be strengthened. Since the withdrawal of long time sponsor Sherwin Williams, the league has struggled to remain consistent.

It's an issue which national senior women's team head coach Hue Menzies cited as the reason more local based players were not included in the squad heading to the World Cup in June. JFF president Michael Ricketts is hoping the achievements of the Reggae Girlz will encourage more sponsors to support the local league.

However, Ricketts sought to assure the stakeholders that the league will be held this year. Waterhouse are the defending champions.
