JFF to revise schedule for women's football next season

Voice of JFF Director of Football Vin Blaine

The Jamaica Football Federation will in the future avoid having its women's club league run until this time of year to avoid the high rate of no-shows seen this season. JFF Director of Football, Vin Blaine said some dislocation had been expected as club teams often feature high school players.

Last week three teams did not show for their matches. Blaine says this shows that the league can never be held at this time again. This year, they felt it was better to be late with the competition, than not have one.

“The competition started very very late; it started in August so you find that that is not the time that you normally start. We usually start at the end of May or sometime in June, July. The reason why we had to play some matches in the week is because we had to finish at a certain time and we have never had a situation where players can’t come off from school. You will never see this next year,” said Blaine.
