JOA expresses sadness at passing of Olympian Twilet Malcolm-Alexander

The Jamaica Olympic Association (JOAQ) has expressed sadness at the death of Olympian Twilet Malcolm-Alexander. Fifty year old Malcolm Alexander passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. JOA president Christopher Samuda says even as the organization mourns with her family and friends, it is reflecting on a life lived meaningfully.

Malcolm-Alexander was a member of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics sprint relay pool as well as a long jumper and the JOA noted that her athletic record and life exemplify for present and future generations of athletes, courage, determination and strength of character.

Malcolm was a past student of St Catherine and St Jago High Schools, San Jacinto Junior College and the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
