Chairman of the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) Clovis Metcalfe says he has been promised a report on Wednesday morning by the stewards at Caymanas Park as it relates to an incident that took place on Saturday, mid-way the 10 race programme. The allegation is that an apprentice was reportedly caught with an electrical device popularly known as a "battery" in his possession prior to race number 6.
The stewards held a meeting on Tuesday with the starter and Clerk of the Course. If the JRC receives the relevant report by Wednesday morning, then a meeting could be convened for Wednesday afternoon to decide on the next course of action. The JRC is expected to reveal the name of the apprentice after the proposed meeting.
