KC continue winning streak in Manning Cup

High flyers and pre-season favourites Kingston College continued their impressive showing to the start of ISSA Flow Manning Cup, tagging Excelsior 3-1 in their top-of-the-table Group ‘E’ contest at the Stadium East Field on Saturday.

The North Street-based school forged into the league courtesy of a brilliant strike from Renalto Campbell from outside the box just before the first half ended.  That lead was doubled eight minutes into the second half by Ronaldo Robinson.

Excelsior clawed their way back into the match as Ryan Spence pulled one back but Jamari Morrison's late goal ensured the Ludlow Bernard-coached  team walked away with all three points.

Defending champions Jamaica college maintained their unbeaten start to the competition, drubbing Donald Quarrie 9-0. The win lifted the ‘Dark Blues’ to the top of the table in Group ‘B’ as fellow unbeaten team STATHS clipped Mona High 1-0 while Bridgeport who are also unbeaten, tagged Papine 3-1.

Last season's beaten finalists Wolmer's Boys came from behind to beat Innswood 2-1 at Heroes’ Circle. Pembroke Hall edged Kingston High 1-0 while Tivoli and Haile Selassie battled to a goalless draw. Calabar blanked Eltham High 3-0 to make it five wins from as many games while Ardenne defeated Greater Portmore 1-0.

Elsewhere, Charlie Smith outscored Jonathan Grant 5-1; Norman Manley had a 2-1 win over Spanish Town High while Cedar Grove Academy and Campion College played out a 1-1 draw.
