KSAFA General Secretary Dwayne Dillon says the association is sticking with its decision not to participate in the new playoff system being implemented by the JFF for promotion to the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL). As it stands, teams which play in KSAFA Super League competition have the chance to qualify to the playoff for a chance to earn promotion to the RSPL.
However, the new JFF system would see four clubs from KSAFA joined with four from St Catherine and four from St Thomas from which one would qualify for the playoff, a move heavily opposed by KSAFA. Speaking on Hitz 92 FM's Sports Grill, Dillon says that position hasn't changed.
“We are preparing to play our Super League in the coming season. If they (JFF) retain their position, the worse-case scenario is that we may not have a team participating in the playoffs next year and our clubs are willing to take that risk,” said Dillon.
