Local triathlon to benefit from overseas technical help

Voice of Jamaica Triathlon Federation executive member Alan Beckford

Jamaica's triathlon programme is to benefit from technical expertise from abroad according to executive member of the Jamaica Triathlon Federation Alan Beckford. Beckford, who recently returned to the island from the world congress in the Netherlands where he was re-elected to the audit committee of the world body, says overseas help will be on the way soon.

“One of our needs is to try and build the cadre of coaches we have in Jamaica so we are hoping that in the next six months we’ll have trainers coming down to assist us with coaches and the countries have also committed that we wouldn’t have to pay for these coaches as they will bring them down to Jamaica,” said Beckford. He also says the association will be targeting more competition for the nation's top juniors.
