Mariappa and Hector recalled to Reggae Boyz squad

English based defenders Adrian Mariappa and Michael Hector have been recalled to the Reggae Boyz squad ahead of their CONCACAF Nations League game against Cayman Islands on September 9 at the National Stadium. Hector who signed with championship club Sheffield Wednesday on loan from Chelsea on Friday, along with Watford defender Mariappa earned a spot in Theodore Whitmore's 23 man squad which will also take on Ecuador in a friendly next Friday in the United States.

The pair's last appearance for Jamaica came in 2016 during the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers under then head coach Winfried Schafer. Meanwhile, defender Damion Lowe who currently plays in Norway, returns to the squad along with several US-based players including goalkeeper Andre Blake, defenders Kemar Lawrence and Alvas Powell and inform striker Cory Curke.

Ladale Richie who captained Jamaica in their recent Easstern Caribbean tour, keeps his place along with other local based players such as Peter Lee Vassell, Amal Knight and Alex Marshall. The rest of the squad reads: Darren Mattocks, Jevaughn Watson, Oneil Fisher, Owayne Gordon, Romario Williams, Ricardo Morris, Javon East, Tevin Shaw, Ricardo Thomas, Fabian Reid, Jeadine White and Kevon Lambert.

Cavalier's Kaheem Parris and Maalique Foster who is moving to Costa Rican club CD Alajuelense on loan from Portmore United, are notable absentees.
