Eight Jamaicans including world and Olympic sprint hurdles champion Omar McLeod are listed to compete at the Shanghai Diamond League meet on Saturday. McLeod will face a strong field including Commonwealth Games Gold and silver medalists and compatriots Ronald Levy and Hansle Parchment.
World record holder Aries Merrit and 2015 World Championships gold medallist Sergey Shubenkov are also expected to line-up. Another Commonwealth gold medallist Janieve Russell is also expected to feature at the meet as she is down to contest the 400 metre hurdles, with compatriot Leah Nugent also in the field.
Commonwealth silver medalist Shericka Jackson will line up in the 200 metres, renewing her rivalry with Commonwealth champion Shaunae Miller with world leader Blessing Okagbare also in the field. Javon Francis who got bronze at Australia's Commonwealth Games in the 400 metres will look to continue to stake his claim amongst the world's best as he lines up in the one lap event against Bahamian record holder and world leader Steven Gardiner and Commonwealth champion Isaac Makwala. Damar Forbes will be the nation's lone athlete in the field in the men's long jump.
