Miller leads Scorpions to first victory in regional 4-day league

The Jamaica Scorpions have registered their first win this season in the Cricket West Indies  Professional Cricket League (PCL) regional four day tournament after defeating the Leeward Islands Hurricanes by 157 runs at Warner Park in St Kitts on Sunday.

After being bowled out for 191 in their 2nd innings, the Scorpions gave the Hurricanes a target of 302 to win on the final day. Thanks to a ten wicket haul from skipper Nikita Miller, the Hurricanes were bowled out for 144 in their 2nd innings with nine wickets down.

However, Kacey Carty did not take the field to bat due to an injury so their innings ended. Miller took 5-32 to end with a match haul of 10-88 on his return to the team from injury. Damion Jacobs took 3-66 to end with 6 wickets in the match.

The Jamaicans will be at home next as they will face the Windward Islands Volcanoes on November 30 at Sabina Park.
