Money secured for Jamaica's females to compete in World Table Tennis Championship

Jamaica's women who had been in danger of missing this year's World Team Table Tennis Championship in Tokyo, will, after all, be making the trip to the Japanese capital for the April 28-May 5 event.

Financial constraints at the Jamaica Table Tennis Association (JTTA) had put the team's participation in doubt.

However, JTTA President Godfrey Lothian announced on Tuesday that the Jamaica Olympic Association has donated in excess of JS$5,000.00 to help offset travel costs.

As a result of this development, Yvonne Foster, a longstanding national champion, as well as Shanique Claire and Kadian Carney, will represent Jamaica in japan.

Funding had already been secured for a male team to travel to the championship.
