Narrow escape for Jamaica's under-17s

Jamaica’s under-17 football team almost blew a 4-0 advantage in their opening match at the annual all schools tournament in Florida.

The Jamaicans led 4-0 at half time against Boca United, before making several substitutions. That allowed Boca back into the contest, but the Jamaicans managed to hold on for a 5-4 win.

The team is taking part in place of the usual team comprised of outstanding players from the Manning Cup and DaCosta Cup schoolboy championships.

The Andrew Edwards coached side is preparing for the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying championship in Honduras in late January.
