National sports representatives urged to create their own brands

Voice of sponsorship co-ordinator Rashid Hall

The nation's sportsmen and women are being encouraged to find innovative ways to market themselves and create their own brands in furthering their careers.

Jamaica's Rashid Hall, who is a sponsorship coordinator with Creative Artists Agency for UEFA, says the business of intellectual property rights is important and that  Jamaican sportsmen and women must look to explore and take advantage branding and marketing options.

“When we talk about developing brands, athletes can market themselves through social media, youtube; if they can be able to compile themselves in terms of the action that they have done on the field and be able to present that in a way, that may spark the interest of a scout and present a good opportunity for themselves,” noted Hall.
