A new champion will be crowned in the 2017/18 Red Stripe Premier League following Waterhouse’s 2-1 win over dethroned champions Arnett Gardens in Monday night’s return leg semi-final at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex to advance to the final 3-1 on aggregate.
Steve Clarke gave Arnett Gardens early hopes when he scored in the 10th minute to level the tie at 1-1 on aggregate. However, their hopes were dented shortly after as Waterhouse found the equalizer from the inform Cardel Benbow just two minutes later.
Tremaine Stewart put Waterhouse further in the ascendancy when he struck a brilliant free-kick in the 53rd minute. Arnett have not won any of their last 12 games. Waterhouse will meet Portmore United in next Monday’s final at the National Stadium starting at 8:30 pm.
