Orchids and Spurs win as Elite League resumes

The St Ann Orchids and Manchester Spurs recorded victories on the resumption of the Berger Elite Netball League at the Leila Robinson Courts on Monday night. The Orchids overcame a 27-28 half time deficit to carve out a 58-49 win over the St James Sharpes to give the former champions orchids their 8th win of the campaign.

Simone Gordon who was named MVP, scored 37 goals from 44 attempts while Thristina Harwood got 21 from 27.
The Sharpes were suffering their 7th straight defeat.

In the feature game, the Spurs led from start to finish to stave off the challenge of the Clarendon Gaters 46-43 to move to the top of the table with 21 points from 8 matches. Gizelle Allison with 28 goals and Anna-Kay Griffiths with 12 from 19, led the way for the Spurs. The league continues on Wednesday with two matches.
