Papine High have captured their first ever ISSA Grace Shield title after crushing St George’s College by an innings and 89 runs late on Wednesday’s penultimate day of the three day final at Melbourne. Papine who resumed the day on 242-4, went on to post 384 all out, a first innings advantage of 216 runs.
Captain Andre Bailey notched 104, his first century of the season. Romario Lynch 61 and Raymond Hall 57 also made useful contributions against Garth Holness 3-60 and Kirk McKenzie 3-106. Batting a second time, STGC were rolled over for 127, with Orande Pearson bagging 6-42 and Rushawn Bailey 3-28.
