Plethora of Jamaicans to compete at London Diamond League

Olympic double sprint champion Elaine Thompson in one of 12 Jamaicans down to compete on Saturday's opening day of the Muller Anniversary Games Diamond League meet in London. Thompson will run in the 200 metres where she is the current world leader for the event and will be joined by Schillone Calvert-Powell in the race which is set for 9:06 am.

2011 world 100 metre champion Yohan Blake is one of three Jamaicans set to run off in the heats of that event which will go off at 8:35 am Jamaica time. He'll be accompanied by Tyquendo Tracey and Julian Forte.

Olympic and World Champinship bronze medallist Shericka Jackson will go in the 400 metres along with fellow World Champs bronze medallist Stephenie McPherson at 8:04 am. 2015 world champion Danielle Williams is set to line up in the  heats of the 100 metres hurdles along with compatriots Megan Tapper and Yanique Thompson starting at 7:35 am.

Jaheel Hyde is Jamaica's lone competitor in the 400 metre hurdles which is set to run off at 9:17 am. In the field, Tajay Gayle will go in the long jump which gets going at 7:15 am. 2-time Olympic 100 metre champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and world and Olympic champion Omar McLeod are among 13 Jamaicans who will compete on Sunday's second and final day.
