Portmore United win opening game in CONCACAF League

Portmore United became the first Jamaican club to win a game on Central American soil in the CONCACAF League as they defeated Costa Rican club Santos de Guapiles 2-1 at the Estadio Nacional in Costa Rica on Wednesday. Javon East opened the scoring for the Red Stripe Premier League champions in the 14th minute.

Four minutes later national representaive Malique Foster doubled their lead and then in the 80th minute, the Costa Rican Club fought back from the penalty spot through Pablo Arboine. The second leg will be played at the National Stadium in Kingston on August 9.
