Pulsating tie in Berger Elite League

The third ever tied match in the three year history of the Berger Elite League was recorded on Thursday night at the Leila Robinson Courts.

St James Sharpes and Manchester Spurs played to a thrilling 36-all tie at the resumption of the league following an almost one month break for international campaigns.

Goal-shooter Jody-Ann French-Kentish shrugged off an inconsistent shooting night with 26 goals from 37 attempts to score the equalising goal in the dying moments.

In the evening's other encounter, the St Ann Orchids held on for a 58-54 win over St Catherine Racers, after leading by as many as ten in the third quarter.

The Orchids, with Sunshine Girls Shanice Beckford and Shamera Sterling, were led by Sabrina Spence's 42 goals from 55 attempts and former national player Simone Forbes 16 from 20.

National player Ana-Kay Griffiths shot 23 and Shedieky Hamilton-Barnes 21 goals for the losing St Catherine Racers.

The league continues on Saturday with three matches.
