Rain ruins opening day of Scorpions versus Pride encounter

Rain wreaked havoc on Thursday's first day of the 3rd round regional Professional Cricket League 4-day match between the Jamaica Scorpions and Barbados Pride at Sabina Park. The scorpions were 77 without loss when rain halted their march as only one hour’s play was possible.

John Campbell 42 and Garth Garvey 31, were the not out batsmen after the home team elected to bat. The Scorpions who are hunting their first win of the season currently sit second from bottom on 12.4 points on the six team table with the Pride 1.6 points above them.

The Scorpions have strengthened their squad for the contest, with the inclusion of Campbell, Reynard Leveridge, Damion Jacobs and Oshane Thomas who are all returning from West Indies 'A' team duties.
