Ravi Ashwin stars with the ball in 3rd India vs New Zealand test

New Zealand collapsed from 118-1 to 299 all out to end up trailing by 276 runs on Monday's 3rd day of the 3rd and final test against India in Indore, and face an uphill battle to avoid a series whitewash.

Replying to India's 557-5 declared,  New Zealand resumed on 28-0 and went on to reach 118 without loss, but lost their last 9-wickets for 181 runs to be 299 all out. Martin Guptill made 72 and Tom Latham 53. James Neesham batting at number-6 added 71  against Ravichandran Ashwin 6-81 and Ravindra Jadeja 2-80.

It was Ashwin's 20th test five wicket haul.

India reached 18-0 in their second innings for an overall lead of 276 runs as the host team did not enforce the follow on.

Scores: India 557-5 declared & 18-0; New Zealand 299 all out.

India holds an unbeatable 2-0 series lead.
