Red Stripe Premier League to have innovations

Matches in the upcoming 2015-2016 Red Stripe Premier League season will also be played on Saturdays for the first time.

The league which begins on September 6 will also see matches on the usual Sundays and Mondays  as organisers seek to increase attendance and the popularity of the league.

Meanhile, Edward Seaga has resigned as Chairman of the Professional Footballers Association of Jamaica after six years in office. The announcement was made on Monday at the launch of the 2015/2016 season, with the 85 year old Seaga stating he would be stepping away from the post after serving two three year terms.

He will be replaced by the renowned pollster and former JOA Vice President Don Anderson.

Anderson has been a director at the PFAJ for the past 8 months. The PFAJ is an arm of the JFF and along with the PLCA are responsible for the running of the red stripe premier league.
