Reggae Boy Barnes switches from MLS to Mexian League

29 year old Jamaican international Giles Barnes has signed with Liga MX club Leon in the top tier of Mexican football. After spending six seasons in Major League Soccer, the former England Under-19 forward now becomes the second Jamaican international to go south of the border after Sean Fraser played in Mexico in 2013.

The 7-time Mexican league champions are currently third in Liga MX. Barnes will be available for selection for Leon’s next game against Toluca this Saturday. The former West Bromwich Albion player was a member of Jamaica's squad which finished second in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He has scored 3 goals in 19 appearances for the Reggae Boyz.
