Reggae Boy Beckford fined for fighting teammate

Reggae Boy Jermaine Beckford has been fined by English Championship club Preston North End for fighting his teammate in a match on the weekend.

Beckford and teammate Eoin Doyle were both shown straight red cards in stoppage-time during their 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday following an angry exchange.

Preston has confirmed they will not be appealing either red card after holding their own internal investigation, while Beckford and Doyle have issued a joint apology. The club has also confirmed that their fines will be used to repay Preston fans who travelled to the game.

Beckford who was 6 caps for Jamaica, joins former Reggae Boy Ricardo Fuller who fought Stoke city teammate Andy Griffin during a Premier League game against West Ham United.
