Reggae Boyz defeat Barbados 2-0

The new era has begun successfully for the confirmed Reggae Boyz German head coach, Winfried Schaefer.

Jamaica's senior men's football team blanked Barbados 2-0 in Bridgetown Sunday night, to tick off the first in a long list of friendly internationals in 2014 which includes dates against Switzerland and France.

Playing with several overseas based players, it was the US MLS stars who provided the goals.

Darren Mattocks put Jamaica ahead after 76 minutes while Deshorn Brown, formerly of St. Elizabeth Technical,  ensured the victory in the closing stages of the match.

The Boyz will next face St. Lucia on Wednesday, March 5.
