Jamaica has secured automatic qualification from group‘C’of the CONCACAF Gold Cup after taking second spot in Group’C’. The Reggae Boyz held El Salvador to a 1-1- draw in San Antonio on Sunday. El Salvador took the lead 15 minutes into the game through Nelson Bonilla.
However, the Reggae Boyz were awarded a penalty in the 64th minute which Darren Mattocks converted. This result for the Jamaicans took them to five points, two behind Mexico who blanked Caribbean Cup champions Curacao 2-0.
The quarter final line-ups will now see Jamaica facing Canada on Thursday; Costa Rica battling Panama and the United States opposing El Salvador on Wednesday while on Friday it will be Mexico against Honduras.
