Back-to-back finalists Jamaica now know that their other two opponents in group 'C' of the 15th CONCACAF Gold Cup will be El Salvador and Curacao following Wednesday’s draw for the 2019 tournament in Los Angeles. It was earlier announced that Kingston's National Stadium will for the first time ever host two matches in the competition with a double header featuring Jamaica opposing Honduras.
El Salvador will play Curacao in the first match of the double header on June 17. Reggae Boyz head coach Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore is satisfied that his team has gotten a favourable draw. “It’s a fair enough draw. The only difference from the 2017 Gold Cup draw was Honduras; (now) we have El Salvador, Curacao, so we have Honduras at home and we want to start off on a positive note,” said Whitmore.
The United States, Costa Rica and Jamaica will host the matches in this year’s tournament from June 15 to July 7 with a total of 17 venues to be used in 16 host cities.
