The Reggae Boyz created a stunning upset in reaching a second consecutive CONCACAF Gold Cup final on Sunday night when they scored a famous 1-0 victory over defending champions Mexico in California. Former Harbour View left-full back Kemar‘Taxi’Lawrence got the all-important goal two minutes from time, with a fantastic free kick.
Captain and goalkeeper Andre Blake was again brilliant, pulling off a number of outstanding saves as the Reggae Boyz produced their best performance of the tournament so far.
Jamaica will now journey to the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California for the final with the United States on Wednesday on a mission for their first Gold Cup crown. The game will start at 8:00 pm Jamaica time.
