Reggae Girlz captain to miss Pan Am Games

Inspirational Reggae Girlz captain Konya Plummer has been ruled out of the Pan Am Games due to injury. Head coach Hue Menzies had included the University of Central Florida senior in the team which is missing several professional players who have not been released by their clubs. The 18-member team includes 11 players who either took part in the World Cup qualifiers or were in France for the actual tournament with the University of Florida's Rachel Smith gaining a first time call-up.

The Pan Am Games to be held in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, outside of the FIFA  window. Menzies says he has already advised the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) about the replacement player and is waiting on confirmation. The squad will stage a training camp in Jamaica from July 19-23.

The Reggae Girlz' Pan Am Games campaign will start against Mexico at Estadio Universidad San Marcos on Sunday, July 28.
