Return to polls looks imminent for TTJ delegates

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Renardo Brown

A return to the polls is looking more and more imminent after Table Tennis Jamaica (TTJ) and president Godfrey Lothian lost the case brought against them by former presidential challenger Karen Sinclair-Lym. The decision to grant the annulment of the election was made on Tuesday in the Supreme Court. In a story carried by RJR Sports in May, Sinclair-Lym challenged the process by which the association's constitution was changed on January 28.

She also challenged the election process at TTJ's Annual General Meeting (AGM),the number of clubs and affiliates that took part in voting on both occasions, and the move to have the association’s name changed to Table Tennis Jamaica.

There is now a wait and see approach by delegates in anticipation that they may  return to the polls or if there will be a swift end to what has been a troublesome process.
