Richardson overlooked for national head coaching position

RJR Sports understands that former national player Andrew Richardson has not been offered the head coaching position with the Jamaica Scorpions but has instead been asked to remain the team's assistant coach. Richardson who is currently in Antigua with the West Indies emerging players camp has been the assistant coach for the last two seasons. An official announcement on the successor for Robert Samuels has been delayed to until July 2.

RJR Sports understands that the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) has already made a decision on the new coach.
The other short-listed candidates for the post are Andre Coley and Brenton Parchment. A reliable source with inside knowledge has informed RJR Sports that former wicketkeeper batsman Andre Coley will be given the nod. The JCA had originally decided to make their announcement this week.

However, the current regional contractual period will expire on July 1, which makes Coley contractually tied to the Windward Islands Volcanoes until then.
