Runs galore in 1st test between England and New Zealand at Lord's

New Zealand trail by 86 runs.

England resumed on 354-7 on Friday's second day, with Moeen Ali on 49. No sooner had he ticked off his half century, he was dismissed for 58 as the England tail folded. Joe Root had scored 98 on day-1, Ben Stokes 92 and Jos Buttler 67 to rescue England from 30-4 to 389 all out.

Debutante Matt Henry took 4-93 and Trent Boult 4-79.

Openers Martin Guptill and Tom Latham then posted a century partnership for the Kiwis, before Latham was dismissed for 59 at 1-148. Guptill decided that he wanted to be with his opening partner, and followed him to the shed on the same score as he fell for 70.
