The West Indies have been dealt a huge blow with the late withdrawal of top all-rounder Andre Russell ahead of the three match T-20 series against India, starting Sunday morning at 8:30 Jamaica time. Chairman of Selectors, Courtney Browne said Russell was "injured" and that his name had been withdrawn from the T20 series.
Meanwhile, even with the return of the experienced Trinidadian duo of Darren Bravo
and Kieron Pollard, captain Carlos Brathwaite says the West Indies who lost the test and ODI series, will start as underdogs. Brathwaite also sought to point out that the West Indies were looking to move into the post Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo T-20 era.
