A Man of the Match performance from Jamaican and West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell guided the Kolkata Knight Riders to a 25 run win over the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday. The 30 year old Russell hit 49 runs from 25 balls which included five sixes and three fours in guiding the two time IPL champions to 169-7.
In reply, the Royals who won the title in 2008, were restricted to 144-4 from their 20 overs. The Knight Riders who last won the IPL in 2014, will face the 2016 IPL winners the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the playoff qualifier final on Friday. The winner of that game will face Dwayne Bravo and the Chennai Super Kings in the final on Sunday.
