Two-time T-20 World Cup winner Andre Russell has confirmed he will be representing the Jamaica Scorpions in the regional Nagico Super-50 competition as he seeks to make himself available for selection to the West Indies one-day team. Russell, who has been serving a one-year ban for a whereabouts rule anti-doping violation, was speaking in an interview with TVJ’s Eye on Sports, aired on Thursday evening.
“Me and Robert Samuels (Scorpions coach) had a talk and I’m going to play five or six games and then come back to Jamaica and head off to the PSL (Pakistan Super League). Russell's ban expires on January 30. The West Indies will be taking part in World Cup qualifers in March in Zimbabwe.
