Samuels over his grouses with Australia - coach Simmons

Voice of West Indies coach Phil Simmons

West Indies coach Phil Simmons says Marlon Samuels is over his grouses with Australia and was full praise for Jamaican batsman following his match winning knock against the Aussies in their tri-nation ODI match in St Kitts on Monday.

The West Indies' chase of 266 was largely built around Samuels' knock of 92 as they eventually posted 266-6.

Simmons was asked after the match about Samuels and his relationship with the Australians. “Just the fact that he has taken us to victory in the game so to speak, would be enough for him. I don’t think he’s still worried about what some people in Australia said. I think he answered that in the T20 World Cup final so I thik he has left that there,” said Simmons.

It was the second victory for West Indies who will battle South Africa for a second time on Wednesday.
