Samuels pondering retirement from ODI cricket

Just days after former Windies captain Chris Gayle announced that he will retire from One Day International (ODI) cricket after the ICC Crricket World Cup in England and Wales, another Jamaican batsman has announced that the world cricket showpiece may be his last.

38 year old middle order batsman Marlon Samuels who is set to miss the Windies upcoming ODI series against England through injury, says he will most likely play his final ODI match in this summer's World Cup which runs from May 30 to July 14.

The enigmatic Jamaican who last played for the Windies during their tour of Bangladesh last year, says he is currently doing everything in his power to get over a recurring knee injury. The West Indies' first game of the World Cup will be on May 31 against Pakistan at Trent Bridge.
