Scorpions hold advantage against Pride

Honours belonged to the Jamaica Scorpions at stumps on Friday’s second day of their 4th round regional PCL 4-day match against hosts Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Warner Park in St Kitts. They had restricted the Hurricanes to 209-6 in their first innings reply, with the home team trailing by 133 runs.
 
Montcin Hodge made an even 50 while Devon Thomas and Jamaican Nkrumah Bonner contributed 33 each. Captain Nikita Miller has taken three wicket so far. 

Earlier, the Scorpions were dismissed for 342 in their first innings after resuming on  315-7. Paul Palmer Junior carried on to 82 from his overnight 77. Rakheeem Cornwall took 4-82 and Sheno Berridge 2-56. 
Fifth place Scorpions are still hunting their first win of the season.

Elsewhere, the Guyana Jaguars were piled on the runs against the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force to declare on 484-8 on day two at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Leon Johnson carried on to 165 from his overnight 106 while fellow overnight batsman Vishaul Singh made an even 100 after resuming on 22.  
             
Veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul fell for 2. Bowling for the Red Force, right-arm orthodox spinner Bryan Charles bagged 5-134. The Red Force in reply, closed on 51 without loss with Amir Jangoo on 32.

Meanwhile, the Windward Islands Volcanoes were delicately placed at 151-5 in their first innings reply at stumps on day two of their match against the Barbados Pride at Arnos Vale in St Vincent. They trail by 209 runs. Roland Cato is 47 not out while Kavem Hodge made 38. Spinner Jomel Warrican has taken 2-30 so far for the Pride.

Earlier, the Pride were dismissed for 360 in their first innings after resuming on 273-5. Kevin Stoute made 84 after resuming on 59. Tyrone Theophile took 5-56 and Shane Shillingford 3-98 for the Volcanoes.
