The Jamaica Scorpions picked up their first win of the regional Super 50 after a seven wicket victory over the Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners at the Three W's Oval in Barbados. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the CCC Marooners were restricted to 219-8 from their 50 overs. Khesan Ottley top scored with 43 from 62 balls.
Nikita Miller led the way with the ball for Jamaica with 3-35 from 9 overs. Oshane Thomas also contributed with 2-41 from 7 overs. In reply, the Scorpions got to their target with 91 balls to spare. Rovman Powell led the way with 79 from 64 balls, while Andre McCarthy also chipped in with 72 from 69 balls. Opener Chris Gayle made 21 while Jermaine Blackwood made 36.
The Scorpions will next be in action on Saturday against the Barbados Pride at the Kensington Oval. The competition continues on Friday as the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force search for win number two of the competition against Guyana at the Queen’s Park Oval. In the other game in Group "A" Canada will take on the Winward Islands Volcanoes.
