Scorpions trail Red Force final regional 4-day encounter

The Jamaica Scorpions trail the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force by 107 runs with four second innings wickets remaining  at stumps on Friday’s second day of their final round Cricket West Indies regional four day competition at the Brian Lara Stadium. The Red Force who began the day on 338-5, were bowled out for 389. Jason Mohammed top scored with 94 while Nicholson Gordon took 7-70 for the Scorpions.

Nkrumah Bonner took 2-43 while Jermaine Levy took 1-86. At the close of play, the Scorpions reached 282-6 with Nkrumah Bonner and Kennar Lewis at the crease on 42 and 6 respectively. Jermaine Blackwood top-scored for the Scorpions with 66. The Scorpions are searching for their fourth win of the season which would help them to leapfrog the Red Force from sixth to fifth in the table. Day three action bowls off at 9:00 am Jamaica time.

In the other game in the region, the encounter between the Leeward Islands Hurricanes and the Barbados Pride ended in a draw at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in Antigua. With this result, the Hurricanes finished second in the table while the Pride ended third. The Guyana Jaguars are the champions of the 2018/19 season.
