The hunt for a new Executive Director of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) will begin in short order, according the Chairman of the 15-member board Alexander Williams. It follows Monday's confirmation that Carey Brown had been fired after a number of procedural breaches.
“We’re trying to be careful to see to it that doping control isn’t affected in any serious way during this period and see to it that we have somebody in place whom we expect will improve upon the work that Mr (Carey) Brown had started,” said the JADCO chairman.
In addition to not being involved with any sporting organization as per the legislative provisions, the JADCO Chairman said prospective candidates with experience in sports law would be plus.
With Brown set to leave JADCO on October 11, Williams says all will be done to ensure JADCO's doping control operations remain at a high level in this transitional period.
